We don’t wake up and say to ourselves, “I don’t love myself.” It usually rears its ugly head in different ways.
Such as depression, staying in toxic relationships, being angry all the time, avoiding spending quality time with yourself, negative self-talk (putting yourself down), you’re not happy with yourself. There might be more reasons, but you get the gest.
I had a few signs that I didn’t love myself. I was depressed for two years because I was making huge life decisions that weren’t true for me. To be fair, I didn’t know who I was in my early 20’s. Also, I was a people pleaser and very co-dependent.
After three years, I can say I am in a better space and have a more loving and compassionate relationship with myself. You can have this as well.
Some people might desire to change and might be full of passion in the beginning, but they give up so easily when they begin to face challenges. One of the paradoxes of human life is that the first thing we have to do is probably the last thing we want to do. But, remember this, when you start and gain momentum, nothing can stop you. If you are committed to developing and growing as a person, then don’t let anything or anyone stop you from bettering yourself and loving yourself.
The quality of your life is a reflection of your standards. You could make millions and still stay poor in your mind. No matter how luxurious your life is on the outside, if you have no inner wealth, then you stay mediocre.
What’s inner wealth? Self-love and peace. If you raise the standard of your mindset, you will not shatter by the failures or setbacks. You will see obstacles as an opportunity to learn and grow. You will feel inspired instead of getting jealous. You will participate in healthy competition instead of comparing yourself to others. Identify where your standards are lacking and commit to raising the bar. Think about the cost and consequences of not raising your standards.
I challenge you to use this time to nurture and care for yourself!
